YPSO: Unidentified Man Asked Girl Walking Dog to Get In His Van

york poquoson sheriffThe York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 13-year-old girl said a man approached her at about 8 p.m. Saturday while she was walking her dog in the Seaford Shores subdivision and asked her to go somewhere with him in his work van.

The girl told deputies the man drove up to her and asked her if she wanted to go someplace cool and then asked if she lived in the area, according to a post on the YPSO Facebook page.

She told the man her mother was watching and then walked away. The van drove off in an unknown direction.

Deputies “scoured the area” but were unable to locate the vehicle, according to the post. The man is described as a late 40s to early 50s white male with long white and brown hair that is balding on top.

His van was described as an old, beat-up work van with a black ladder rack containing no ladders. The van had some kind of signage on the side, but the girl was unable to provide a more detailed description.
