Harold H. Barton, Jr.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced Friday the appointment of two York County residents to state boards.

Harold H. Barton Jr., a Tabb resident, was appointed to the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Service Organizations. That board offers input and advice to the governor and the commissioner of the Department of Veteran Services on issues concerning veterans and retirees.

Barton works for law firm Mulkey, Reid & Barton PLC in Newport News. He specializes in elder law and issues surrounding veterans.

Ken Neill, a dentist who lives in Seaford, was appointed to the Virginia Marine Resources Commission. The VMRC regulates industries that operate in waters throughout the state, with much of its focus on the shellfish business.

Neill is a lifelong York County resident who enjoys recreational fishing, according to his website. He has served on advisory committees to the VRMC in the past.
