James City County Police are investigating a pair of break-ins at businesses on Richmond Road sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said cash, electronics and jewelry — believed to be worth about $2,000 — was stolen from At Nails on the 7800 block of Richmond Road. The scene showed signs of forced entry through a side window.

Cindy’s Classic Cuts on the 6500 block of Richmond Road was the other burglarized business, where it is believed a person or group forced entry through a back door then stole a cash register and cash that together is valued at about $600, Rubino said.

Police suspect the same person or group carried out these break-ins due to their proximity. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP (888-562-5887).
