WILLIAMSBURG — The City of Williamsburg announced City Manager Andrew O. Trivette’s Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget was published on the city’s website Friday, March 29.
According to the city, the budget proposal recommends no change to the real estate tax rate of 62 cents per $100 of assessed value.
The city noted last year’s budget process focused on three strategic priorities:
- Establish the necessary funding for debt service associated with infrastructure replacement.
- Improve the benefits package the city offers to staff, while they are employed and after.
- Eliminate the city’s reliance on U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds — and the associated limitations — for our public housing sites.
The Adopted Fiscal Year 2024 Budget fully satisfied one of those priorities, the enhanced benefits, the city said. This year’s budget process continues to focus on the remaining priorities, with the required debt service for the police station and library projects fully satisfied in the proposed Fiscal 2025 budget.

City council will consider adoption of the budget on May 9.
