Williamsburg Music Club Seeking Submissions from Local Students

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Music Club is accepting applications to audition for its annual Grants-in-Aid music competition through Feb. 1.

The Williamsburg Music Club’s Grants-In-Aid program provides scholarships to serious music students. It provides grant money to a student from WJCC Schools, York County Schools, or the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra to help them further their musical studies.

“The music club is very devoted to helping with students’ musical endeavors,” said Alisa Bohon, Vice President of the Williamsburg Music Club and chair of the Grants-In-Aid program. “We want to encourage and increase the opportunities of students in our area.”

Forty participants are chosen in two categories — a junior and senior division. The junior division covers grades 6-8 and the senior division is comprised of grades 9-12. A variety of orchestral instruments are allowed to participate, including vocals.

The audition will be held on March 16 at William & Mary. For more information about the application process, visit the Grant-In-Aid page on the Williamsburg Music Club official website or contact Alisa Bohon at  alisabohon@gmail.com
