Mallory Holup Earns Spot On NFHCA Academic Squad

Mallory Holup of Seaford was one of 22 Shenandoah University field hockey student-athletes recognized for academic excellence by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association by earning a spot on the association’s 2023 Division III National Academic Squad. The Hornets tied for the third-most NFHCA Academic Squad honorees in the country, and only four other schools had at least 22 athletes appear on the list.

NFHCA Academic Squad recognition is given to individuals who have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, and who have been nominated by their dedicated NFHCA member coaches.

Local residents named to Clark University’s Fall 2023 Dean’s List

The following local residents were named to Clark University’s Fall 2023 Dean’s List:

  • Noah B. Katz of Williamsburg was named to second honors.
  • Bradyn R. Potter of Yorktown was named to first honors.

William Dennis Inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

William Dennis of Williamsburg was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Dennis was initiated at Texas Tech University.

Dennis is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10% of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction. Local Emerson College Students Earn Dean’s List for Fall 2023 Semester

The following students are named to Emerson College’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. The requirement to make Dean’s List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

  • Jackson Query of Williamsburg is majoring in Theatre and Performance and is a member of the Class of 2025.
  • Isabelle McMahan of Williamsburg is majoring in Creative Writing BFA and is a member of the Class of 2026.

More than 1,300 students make Fall 2023 President’s List at Coastal Carolina University

More than 1,300 students earned a spot on the President’s List for the Fall 2023 semester at Coastal Carolina University. Students who made the President’s List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the semester.

More than 3,000 students make Fall 2023 Dean’s List at CCU

More than 3,000 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Hollins University Announces Dean’s List for Fall 2023

Hollins University congratulated students who earned Dean’s List honors during the fall 2023 semester. To attain this distinction, students must earn at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 grading scale.

Zachary Smith Named to Hamilton College Fall 2023 Dean’s List

Zachary Smith of Williamsburg has been named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College for the 2023 fall semester.

To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester and earned an average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Smith, a junior majoring in biology, is a graduate of Marthas Vineyard Regional High School.

Bridget Palermo Named to Muhlenberg College Fall 2023 Dean’s List

Bridget Palermo of Williamsburg was named to the Muhlenberg College Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester.

Muhlenberg College students and Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.

UT Student, Megan Sapp, of Seaford Earned Dean’s List Honors

Megan Sapp of Seaford earned dean’s list honors at The University of Tampa for the Fall 2023 semester. Sapp is a Junior majoring in History BA. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list.

Jacoby Melton Earns Faculty Honors at Georgia Tech for the Fall 2023 Semester

Jacoby Melton of Yorktown earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Fall 2023 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Zihan Weng Named to Dean’s List at Georgia Tech for the Fall 2023 Semester

Zihan Weng of Williamsburg made the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Maxwell Sievenpiper of Yorktown named to fall Deans’ List at Nebraska

Maxwell Frederic Sievenpiper of Yorktown has been named to the Deans’ List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

Sievenpiper, a junior majoring in supply chain management and computer science, was named to the Dean’s Lists for the College of Business and College of Engineering.

More than 6,800 students at Nebraska were named to the Deans’ List for the fall semester.
