CHARLES CITY — A musical event is coming to Charles City on Nov. 16 to raise support for families affected by Hurricane Helene.

The Music with a Mission — Hurricane Helene Relief Show will feature a variety of musicians with the proceeds to go to BeLoved Ashville, a community organization that is dedicating its resources to those most affected by the storm.

Sheila Sullivan is organizing the event with Shirley Vermillon’s assistance.

On the day of the event, a donation drive will be held with donated items going to Beacon Hill Church in Hopewell. The donation drive is asking for essential supplies, including children’s winter clothing, hygiene products, and Christmas gifts (for children).

“In a world where things have gone crazy it just feels good to do something good,” Sullivan explained.

The event is set to feature several Virginia native artists, including headliner Cody Christian and the Congregation.
