YORKTOWN— Bring your dancing shoes and a revolutionary spirit to keep in step with ballroom dances of the 18th century during a Colonial Tea Ball at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown on Nov. 8, 7-10 p.m.

The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation (JYF) said the evening affair is among the Yorktown Tea Festival events in Historic Yorktown on Nov. 6 through 10 that pay tribute to the 250th anniversary of Yorktown’s very own Tea Party in 1774.

Dances will be led by John Millar, dance master, author and historian, with music performed by the Itinerant Band. From “Draper’s Garden” to “The Queen’s Jig,” Millar will lead guests in more than a dozen dances during the evening, JYF announced.

The event will include a souvenir booklet with step-by-step dancing instructions.

JFY also says that attendees are encouraged to dress in 18th-century clothing or dress up for the occasion. Between dances, guests can catch their breath and visit the museum’s gallery exhibits, including tea-inspired artifacts on display.

The ticketed event is $25 per person and designed for ages 13+. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dancing beginning at 7 p.m. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, and a cash bar and snacks will be available for purchase at the 1781 Café by Aromas.

Tickets are available at jyfmuseums.org/colonial-tea-ball
