YORKTOWN — Riverwalk Landing will turn into an indoor/outdoor art gallery on Sunday, Sept. 29, for Yorktown’s 13th annual Art Stroll.
York County announced approximately 50 regional artists will put their artistic talent on display along Water Street, as well as inside and behind the Yorktown Freight Shed, where visitors will find a wide range of art for sale including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry, sculpture, mosaics, painted furniture, and mixed media.
Not only is the public invited to visit with the artists and learn more about their inspiration, attendees are also invited to participate in an annual community painting project — a blank canvas set out for attendees to complete, the county said.
Guests can enjoy a special musical performance on the Riverwalk Landing stage from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by Audio Portrait, an acoustic harmony trio that covers songs from the ’60s through today.
On Main Street, more artistic works will be on offer at the Gallery at York Hall, and paintings, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, quilts, and other pieces from local artists are available for purchase.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots in town. The Yorktown Trolley will start its run early that morning to provide complimentary service from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the county said.
The event is free, open to the public, and will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit the Visit Yorktown webpage.
