ICYMI: Brill Music & BBQ Fest set to Return to Jamestown Beach

WILLIAMSBURG — Brill Music & BBQ Fest returns to Jamestown Beach Event Park for three days of music and barbecue fun on Friday, April 19.

The weekend-long festival will include a “Meet the Pitmasters” VIP Experience on Friday, the Brill Music Festival on Saturday and an event called “Meats-n-Beats” on Sunday. All events are ticketed and will occur under a tent.

The event will also feature the second annual Revolutionary Barbecue Brawl, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned (KCBS) competition with 72 Masters and Backyard barbecue teams from Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New Jersey. The barbecue teams will be competing for $30,000 in prize money in four categories: chicken, ribs, pork and brisket.

This event is hosted by CultureFix in partnership with James City County and Ham Squad Worldwide presenting the KCBS competition.

“Back and better than last year, I am thrilled to have KCBS teams from all over the Mid-Atlantic participate in a KCBS-sanctioned barbecue event and that we are able to bring a weekend-long community event celebrating music and barbecue at the same time thanks to CultureFix,” said Dave Dick, owner of Ham Squad Worldwide in Gloucester.

Dick was the 2022 KCBS Backyard World Invitational Champion and currently competes as a Master’s team in KCBS events across the country.

The event is ticketed with a variety of pricing options from VIP or general admission to weekend or daily admission. All tickets can be purchased online. Barbecue enthusiasts — both backyard and master teams — may still apply to compete by filling out this form.

The Brill Music & BBQ Fest will be held rain or shine. No outside coolers, alcohol or food are permitted. Lawn chairs are permitted for the Saturday and Sunday events. For more information please visit the ticket website or CultureFix’s official page on the event.
