WILLIAMSBURG — With three concerts remaining in the 2023-24 season, the Open Door Concert Series is promising plenty of surprises starting Sunday, Feb. 25.

The Baltimore Consort will be performing on Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. Described as a premier interpreter of Elizabethan popular music, its repertoire is drawn from the taverns, street corners, and theatrical performances of Shakespeare’s era. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 3:45 p.m. for a brief history of the group’s music and instruments, according to series organizers.

Organist Aaron David Miller will perform on April 21 at 4 p.m. Regarded as a world-class performer, composer, and improviser, The Open Doors Concert Series also announced that it will also be welcoming Michael Barone, host of the nationally syndicated public radio program “Pipedreams,” to the performance. In addition to recording content for an upcoming episode, Barone will be interviewing Miller throughout the program.

Windborn will perform on May 19 at 4 pm. National Public Radio calls Windborne “the best musical discovery of the year.” The group draws inspiration from folk music’s longtime alliance with social activism and movements that champion the oppressed, the poor, and the disenfranchised, according to series organizers.

The concert series is free, open to the public, and is held at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. For more information about the Open Doors Concert Series and its upcoming performances, visit its official website.
