YORKTOWN — Tiffany Rebar will be signing copies of her children’s book “Welcome Home Melanie Mae” at the Yorktown Library from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Rebar’s book is the story of Melanie Mae, a fun-loving giraffe who encourages learning as she goes through the days of the week with her new family. With the imagination of two girls who happily welcomed her into their family, Melanie Mae feels she can do anything.
Their days are filled with fun and excitement as they do photo shoots, dance, play dress-up, go on a safari, and much more. Melanie Mae is happy to find a place where she can be the unique, silly giraffe that she truly is — a place where she belongs.
Rebar hopes readers fall in love with Melanie Mae in the same way her family has enjoyed going on these adventures in their home with Melanie Mae, a large stuffed giraffe.
The rhyming and repetitive nature of this book is designed to promote learning and language concepts while encouraging imaginative play in the younger child, according to a release from. the York County Public Library. The goal of this book is to provide entertainment and enhance imaginations for years to come.
The first-time author grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and her passion for helping people led to a career as a Nurse Practitioner. After the birth of her daughters, Rebar’s love for children’s books blossomed, according to the releas, and she enjoys a charming, heartfelt story filled with imagination and adventure.
Rebar, her husband, two daughters, and their pets currently live in Yorktown and love the beach life.
