HAMPTON — NekoCon, Virginia’s oldest anime convention, held its 25th event with the theme “Little Witch Catademia” Nov. 3-5 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
The weekend offered a variety of entertainment and activities for attendees from photoshoots to panels to an artist alley and exhibitors hall.
One of the major highlights of the weekend was the Cosplay Masquerade, where NekoCon reported having its highest-ever number of participants. Winners for both craftsmanship and performance were given awards after the performance and were later invited on stage for a group photo.
At closing ceremonies, NekoCon announced that it raised over $7,000 for the Heritage Humane Society and the Carolina Manga Library. The convention also saw 6,022 people attend over the three days.
NekoCon’s 2024 theme was also announced — “Mewths and Legends.” For more information about the convention, visit the official website.
