YORKTOWN — Fans of the “Outlander” historical drama series will be teaming up to pit
wits in a Reign & Rebellion-inspired evening of time-hopping trivia on Saturday, July 29 at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
The ongoing Reign & Rebellion special exhibition explores Virginia’s founding through the lens of the Stuart monarchy to the American Revolution, storylines that are also captured in author Diana Gabaldon’s epic nine-part book saga and the STARZ television series adaptation.
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation announced that the Outlander Trivia Night, to be emceed by JYF Museums Outlander Fan Club, will begin at 6 p.m. and is open to individuals or teams of up to eight players. Guests are also encouraged to wear their favorite “Outlander”-inspired outfits to join in the spirit of the evening and compete for prizes.
The event is free but space is limited, as a result, advance registration is required to participate.
Doors open at 5 p.m. to visit the Reign & Rebellion special exhibition and the museum shop for “Outlander” books and related merchandise, including a cookbook, knitting book, stationery set and other items.
Select volumes in the “Outlander” series are available for purchase in the museum shop at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, with limited quantities at Jamestown Settlement — the debut novel “Outlander,” “Drums of Autumn” and “Go Tell the Bees I’m Gone.”
The 1781 Café by Aromas will offer a selection of food and beverages for purchase. Meals can be ordered in advance or during the event. Guests ages 21 and older must show proof of age to purchase alcoholic beverages.
