WILLIAMSBURG — The 23rd annual Williamsburg British and European Car Show, hosted by the Williamsburg British Car Club, will take place on April 22 to benefit The Arc of Greater WilliamsburgThe Arc of Greater Williamsburg.
According to its website, The Williamsburg British Car Club was founded in 1999 to promote and preserve all British Marques. The group is based in Virginia’s Historic Triangle of Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown, and members come from the “Hampton Roads” region and beyond.
This year, the featured marque is MG Automobiles. A British automotive marque founded by Cecil Kimber in the 1920s, M.G. Car Company Limited is best known for its open two-seater sports cars. MG also produced saloons and coupés, with engines up to three liters in size and 3.5L in the case of the MGB GT V8. The marque is now owned by Chinese state-owned automaker SAIC Motor Corporation Limited.
A portion of the proceeds,after WBCC expenses, will be given to The Arc of Greater Williamsburg. Door prizes will be awarded and there will be a 50-50 raffle.
The show field opens to registered cars for field placement at 9 a.m. Spectators will have the field open to them from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food will be available from on-site restaurants.
WBCC notes that this year, all voting will be done by a panel of experienced judges. The group hopes it will take the burden off participants and spectators and ensure the awards will be presented close to the 2 p.m. ending time.
