WILLIAMSBURG — The 26th Annual Horticultural Extravaganza, hosted by the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners, will be held at Tabb High School on Mar. 11.
The spring gardening event, Sustainable and Smart Gardening, was created and designed to be both an informative event, as well as one for gardeners to meet and network with one another. Garden enthusiasts will learn from experts how to use research-based knowledge to cultivate beautiful gardens to benefit themselves and wildlife.
“The Extravaganza is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to cultivate smart and sustainable gardening practices. We’re certain that amateur and professional gardeners, landscapers, naturists, water stewards, educators; and anyone interested in managing natural resources, and environmental sustainability will enjoy our lineup of speakers,” says Dr. Thomas E. Pinelli, coordinator for the event.
Speakers will include:
- Mark Viette — Celebrated gardener, author, and host of Down Home Virginia
- Dr. Cynthia Wood— Columnist and Master Naturalist
- Kate Dooley — Owner of Kate’s Next Door Market
- Becky Heath — Owner of Brent and Becky’s Bulbs
Early registration is now through March 2 and costs $25. Registration continues until March 8 for online registration, but the price will raise to $30. To purchase tickets, visit the official event page.
