New Town Tunes Presents a Trio of Concerts for September

WILLIAMSBURG — Wake up before September ends, or you’ll miss this lineup for the New Town Tunes concert series starting on Sept 14.

James City County Parks & Recreation, in partnership with CultureFix and New Town, will present three tribute bands on three different nights throughout the month. The concerts will be free to the public with the gates opening at 5 p.m. at Sullivan Square, behind Legacy Hall in New Town. Concerts will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end around 8 p.m.

Opening the concert series on Sept. 14 will be the ’80s tribute band The DeLoreans. The group is made up of six vocalists who cover some of the most loved and nostalgic songs of the ’80s. According to the band, they are known for their dynamic ’80s costumes, unstoppable energy, and their ability to bring down the house every time.

Brasswind, the classic Horn Band tribute, will perform on Sept. 21. Brasswind features a classic horn band sound and look, and features tributes to The Tower of Power, Chicago, Earth, Wind, & Fire, James Brown, The Temptations, Buddy Miles, Michael Jackson, and more.

Closing the series of performances is Every Little Thing, which bill themselves as the ultimate Police tribute band, on Sept. 28. Promising to bring a British invasion right to New Town Williamsburg.

James City County Parks & Recreation encourages attendees to bring their lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the outdoors while taking in the tunes from some of the area’s top bands. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
