WILLIAMSBURG — Billsburg Brewery is hosting Kindness Rocks — an all-day free event of music, food, drink, and fun — on July 23.
Billsburg Brewery says it was born both from the love of traditional lagers, pilsners and ales and a desire to create a space where family, friends, and the community could gather to make memories. According to its Facebook page, the Kindness Rocks event aims to highlight that desire by providing an event where both young and old can come together.
Rock painting starts at 1 p.m. in the beer garden. These “kindness rocks” are momentos that children and adults can take home, give as gifts, or leave around town to be found by others, according to the brewery. Billsburg will supply the rocks — one per person while supplies last. Younger children will need the help of a parent/guardian.
In addition to rock painting, there will be live music from 2-5 p.m. by award-winning recording artist Jillian Matundan followed by the band Impulse from 6-9 p.m. Food will be available from The Hungry Pug, Nosh, and Bali Bali, and alcohol will also be available for those who are of age, including Billsburg favorite frozen strawberry concoction Settlemint.
