WILLIAMSBURG — Teens can learn how to mix and create music using free online software at the James City County Library’s “How to Make Beats” workshop July 9.
The workshop will be led by Sean Slaughter of Life Power Music Mentoring. Slaughter is an entrepreneur and educator who has worked as a recording artist for 15 years, traveling around the world as both a performer and a sound engineer. He now owns his own private studio where he records mixes of local artists.
He is also the founder of Life Power Music Mentoring, dedicating his entertainment and business background to help teach and inspire a younger generation to pursue their music dreams.
The library will supply all the necessary equipment for the workshop. Basic internet skills are required in order to participate.
The How to Make Beats Workshop is for ages 13-18 and free. Seating is limited. Participants should register by calling James City County Library at 757-741-3300 and selecting Option 2. The event will start at 1 p.m. and finish at 5 p.m..
