WILLIAMSBURG— The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center’s Regional Juried Show will begin Sept. 18 and run through Nov. 1 at the WCAC building on Westover Avenue.
The show includes artists from the greater Hampton Roads area as well as WCAC members.
“This year’s show includes 59 artists and 80 pieces of art,” said Karen Schwartz, program co-chair. “Our juror had the difficult task of selecting the best artwork from the many pieces entered.”
The show’s juror this year is Doug Mock, an award-winning watercolor artist and educator from the Northern Neck of Virginia. He is also president of the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock.
“We are excited by the level of creativity on exhibit as it represents the best work of the artists juried into the show,” said Apryl Altman, program co-chair. “The show offers cash awards, which is also a great incentive to talented artists to enter their work for consideration.”
The awards will be announced at a preview reception for WCAC members and participating artists.
Running concurrently with the regional show is the Artisan Corner, featuring jewelry, pottery, fiber art, and other 3D works. WCAC, located in the blue building at 110 Westover Ave., is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. All artwork is for sale.
