WILLIAMSBURG — The Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg (JWCW) will hold its 58th annual Art on the Square show on Sunday, April 28 along Duke of Gloucester Street and the P-4 parking lot in Colonial Williamsburg.

Art on the Square will feature 90 artists showcasing work ranging from pottery and paintings to jewelry and ceramics, according to the club. Local food vendors, including Cousins Maine Lobster, Old City BBQ and Polar Snow, will be on hand.

Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort and Verizon are sponsoring this year’s event.

Gulay Berryman will return as the featured artist with an original oil painting — “Welcoming Spring” — which will be raffled off at the event. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets online and at the JWCW tent for the opportunity to win. JWCW will also be selling commemorative poster prints of the original painting.

Proceeds from artist booth fees, as well as raffle ticket and poster sales, are donated to visual and performing arts organizations throughout the greater Williamsburg area, including JWCW’s Richard E. DePaul Memorial Scholarship for Visual and Performing Arts.

“We’re excited to return to DoG Street and try a new layout for this year’s Art on the Square,” said Ali Blankinship, president of JWCW. “We’re also thankful for the generosity of our featured artist Gulay Berryman, and appreciative of our community partners for sponsoring the event and supporting our club’s mission.”

Nora Bartlett of Walls Alive, an in-kind sponsor, will offer special framing pricing for posters. A portion of frame sales will be donated to JWCW from customers who visit the store and mention the club.

Art on the Square is free and open to the public. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the show and 2024 Art on the Square artists, visit the JWCW website.
