WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Regional Library (WRL) was selected to receive a $35,000 Tourism Development Fund grant from the City of Williamsburg.

The grant will be used to provide interactive and digital elements to the WRL Gallery at Stryker Center, as well as improvements for showcasing three-dimensional artwork, WRL said.

The addition of interactive elements will include hands-on and virtual reality activities and digital displays that will introduce a modern, dynamic element to the traditional gallery experience, according to WRL. New display options for three-dimensional art will offer opportunities to explore artwork from different perspectives, allowing visitors to gain an in depth appreciation for the craftsmanship and creativity involved, it said.

“This grant funding from the City of Williamsburg will make a visit to the WRL Gallery at Stryker Center a more engaging and meaningful experience by integrating new technology and display options into each exhibit,” said Betsy Fowler, Library Director.

The elements will be incorporated into the exhibit area in 2024 and can be adapted as needed to enhance each exhibit, the library said.
