Child Authors to Sign New Book in Yorktown at Victory Celebration

YORKTOWN — Children’s historical fiction authors Libby McNamee and Jenny L. Cote will be signing books at The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and Gallery at York Hall Oct. 18-19, along with some 25 child authors who took part in the online Epic Patriot Camp 2022 McNamee and Cote hosted this summer.

The children will be signing their new book “The Epic Story of 1776.”

The camp hosted 25 young aspiring authors ages 10 to 19 with a passion for history. The online camp hosted students from across the country and even one from Australia. Each student picked a historic figure of the Revolution, researched and told their story.

“The point of camp is to encourage the next generation to learn America’s epic history and to tell the story for generations to come,” Cote said. “We taught them how crucial it is to get the research right, and to thoroughly study the good, the bad, and the ugly of history. We also taught them how to make history come alive by relaying the facts with fictional fun.”

The first signing on Oct. 18 is from 1-3 p.m. at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown. The second signing is on Oct. 19 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Gallery at York Hall. Some of the children are traveling to Yorktown with their families to be at one or both signings, and to attend the Yorktown parade and ceremony at the Yorktown Victory Monument.

The book can be purchased on Amazon or read with Kindle Unlimited. For more information about McNamee and Cote, visit their websites.
