WILLIAMSBURG — A 55-year-old woman who was walking on Armistead Avenue Saturday afternoon is in critical condition at Riverside Regional Medical Center after being struck by a pickup truck.
According to the City of Williamsburg, Williamsburg Fire and Police departments responded to the traffic crash involving the pedestrian on Armistead Avenue near Prince George Street on Saturday, Oct. 5.
A preliminary investigation found that at approximately 3:23 p.m., a red Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on Prince George Street and turned left onto Armistead Avenue when it struck a 55-year-old female, who was walking on Armistead Avenue, the city said.
The victim was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.
Williamsburg Police are conducting the investigation. At this time, neither alcohol nor speed appear to be factors in the crash, according to officials.
York County Fire & Life Safety assisted, the city said.
