VDOT’s Weekly Hampton Roads Lane Closures Report for March 3-9

HAMPTON ROADS — VDOT’s list of full closures of interstates, ramps, bridges and primary roads, and single-lane closures at the bridge-tunnels the week of March 3-9.

Bridges and Tunnels

Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, I-64:  

• Single-lane closures westbound March 4-6 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel, I-664: 

• Alternating, single-lane closures in both directions March 3-7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Alternating, mobile, single-lane closures southbound March 5 and March 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HRBT Expansion Project:

• Information about lane closures and other project impacts related to the HRBT Expansion Project.

Elizabeth River Tunnels (Downtown/Midtown Tunnels):

• Information from Elizabeth River Tunnels for maintenance schedules and lane closures on the Downtown Tunnel (I-264), Midtown Tunnel (U.S. 58) and MLK Expressway (Route 164).

I-64

I-64, Southside Widening, High Rise Bridge Expansion:

• Information about lane closures and other project impacts related to the I-64 Southside Widening and High Rise Bridge Project.

I-64, Hampton Roads Express Lanes:  

• Information about lane closures and other project impacts related to the Hampton Roads Express Lanes.

Hampton: 

• Full closure of the off-ramp from I-64 east to Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road (exit 267A) March 4-6 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 in both directions between LaSalle Avenue (exit 265) and the Hampton River Bridge March 3-7 from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.
• Long-term, continuous single-lane closure on I-64 in both directions, reducing travel lanes from three to two lanes between Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road (exit 267) and LaSalle Avenue (exit 265), with I-64 west traffic shifted to the I-64 east lanes. View the full traffic alert.

Norfolk:

• Left turn prohibited from southbound Little Creek Road to I-64 east
• Left turn prohibited from the I-564 east off-ramp to northbound Little Creek Road
• Long-term traffic shift toward the inside median on I-64 in both directions between Tidewater Drive and Little Creek Road (exit 276)
• Long-term, continuous, single-lane closure on the I-64 west on-ramp to I-564 west
• Long-term, shortened merge area at the northbound Tidewater Drive on-ramp to I-64 west. View the full traffic alert here.

Norfolk, Reversible Roadway:

• Full closure in both directions:
  • Consecutively from 8 p.m. on March 1 until 3 a.m. on March 4
  • March 4-7 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • March 4-8 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
