One Killed on I-64 in York County

UPDATE (Dec. 7, 2021, 4:24 p.m.): The original information received by WYDaily from the Virginia State Police (VSP) noted that this crash occurred in James City County. VSP has since corrected this, now confirming that the crash occurred in York County.
Additionally, VSP has released further information that a 19-year-old Norfolk resident was killed in this crash. There were injuries to the vehicle’s occupants and VSP discovered several firearms (including one listed as stolen) and narcotics in the vehicle. To read the full update, please visit

*YORK COUNTY — One person is confirmed dead after a single vehicle crash at 3:41 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Dec. 7.

According to a Virginia State Police (VSP), the crash occurred on Interstate 64 (I-64) East at mile marker 244 in *York County near the exit for Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

The VSP Crash Reconstruction Team was sent to the scene in order to assist with the investigation.

No further details have been released at this time.
