DEVELOPING STORY: Fight at Busch Gardens Sends One Person to the Hospital, Three Injured

BUSCH GARDENS — A fight that broke out in the line to the Griffon sent one person to the hospital.

According to James City County Police Department (JCCPD) spokesperson, Stephanie Williams, police responded to the fight at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

Upon arrival, three adult females were being treated by Busch Gardens’ medics.

According to Williams, one of the victims had severe swelling and a laceration near her eye; the second victim had a small laceration to the right of her eye, marks on her arms, and swelling on her face; the third victim had a red mark on her upper thigh.

Only one of the victims was transported by medics to a local hospital.

A video posted on Reddit shows the intense fight among five women. A witness provided a video of the fight to police. The offenders are unknown and were unable to be located in the park.

BGW commented on the incident in a Tuesday, Aug. 10 email.

“This behavior is not tolerated and does not align with the experience we want guests to have while visiting our park,” Matthew Klepeisz, BGW‘s Public Relations Manager, said.
