WILLIAMSBURG— On Oct. 28, Avalon Center announced a donation of $2,000 from Village Bank. Avalon says that this contribution will support Avalon Center’s mission to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence, providing critical resources and services to individuals and families in need.
Originally known as the Williamsburg Task Force on Battered Women in 1978, the organization has grown over the years. Today, Avalon says it provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and support services for approximately 1500 individuals annually.
“We are immensely grateful to Village Bank for their support,” said Teresa Christin, Executive Director of Avalon Center. “This donation will directly aid in delivering essential services, resources, and advocacy to those impacted by domestic violence.”
The Avalon Center says Village Bank’s support underscores the importance of community involvement in addressing domestic violence and providing hope and healing to those affected.
