Yorktown’s Free Trolley Returns March 24

Yorktown’s free trolley service is returning for 2023 (Provided by York County)

YORKTOWN– The Yorktown Trolley is back in action daily beginning Mar. 24, operating from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 19, with extended hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.

The free air-conditioned (and heated) trolley offers services that are bookended by the two main historical attractions of the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.

Several other stops are made along the way including the Victory Monument, Historic Main Street, Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown Beach, Watermen’s Museum, and the York County Courts and Office Complex.  The overall route takes an estimated 20 to 25 minutes to complete.

Each trolley is ADA accessible and includes an infotainment system highlighting details about upcoming events in Historic Yorktown as well as promotions for local businesses. Each trolley can accommodate 28 seated and 19 standing passengers. The service transports an estimated 95,000 passengers throughout Yorktown during its operating season.

The 2023 Trolley schedule is as follows:

Mar. 24 – May 25 (Daily) 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
May 26 – Sept. 4 (Daily) 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Sept. 5 – Nov. 19 (Daily) 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holiday hours are Nov. 24 – Dec. 17 (Fri, Sat, Sun only) 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
