JAMESTOWN — Single-day admission to Historic Jamestowne and Colonial National Historical Park — including Yorktown Battlefield — will be free on Monday, Jan. 16, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

According to the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation, visitors should check in at the ticketing desk before entering the site. No online tickets are available for fee-free days.

Additionally, Public Historian Mark Summers will host two special tours to mark the day, including the popular First Africans Tour, which explores the circumstances and impacts of the arrival of Africans forcibly brought to Virginia in 1619; and the American Heartbreak Tour, which shares the history of segregation and desegregation at Jamestown in the midst of the Civil Rights Era.
Pre-registration is not required and tours are offered at no additional cost. The full program schedule can be found at historicjamestowne.org/visit/calendar/2023-01-16/.
