HAMPTON —Virginia State Police said a man died overnight in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 in Hampton.
State police responded at approximately 2:13 a.m. to the scene of the accident on eastbound Interstate 64 at the 261 exit/Hampton Roads Center Parkway.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2004 Honda sedan ran off the road, struck the jersey wall, then crossed four lanes into the woodline, striking several trees and a highway sign before coming to rest in the grassy area on the right shoulder.
The driver, 42-year-old Keith Alexander Norman Jr., of Hampton, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
