JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS — An active-duty Airman assigned to the 1st Munitions Squadron at Joint Base Langley-Eustis was killed during an off-base motorcycle accident in Newport News on Dec. 28.
According to 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs, the Airman has been identified as Staff Sgt. Tanner Romanos, 27, of Clinton, Connecticut. Romanos entered the Air Force in June 2015 and arrived at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) in January 2019, serving as a crew chief.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our family members and I know that pain is felt throughout the Wing and the JBLE community as a whole,” said Col. William Creeden, 1st Fighter Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sgt. Romanos’ family, friends, and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
