WILLIAMSBURG — Visit Williamsburg, the official destination marketing organization for Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown, is celebrating after receiving multiple awards honoring the best in destination marketing for its “Life. At Your Pace.” campaign, along with recognition from readers of two prestigious travel publications.
Visit Williamsburg won three awards from the Richmond chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), three awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), four awards from “Travel Weekly,” and was named as a top travel destination from readers of “Travel + Leisure,” and “ConventionSouth” magazines, according to a press release.
“While we are thrilled that our marketing efforts have been acknowledged, the real reward comes from seeing our campaigns translate into increased overnight visitation,” said Victoria Cimino, CEO of Visit Williamsburg. “It is an honor that Visit Williamsburg has received such high recognition, not only from travel industry professionals, but from visitors to the destination as well.”
Richmond PRSA Awards
Visit Williamsburg’s integrated marketing campaign, “Life. At Your Pace.” won a Commonwealth Award of Merit from the Richmond PRSA chapter in the Reputation and Brand Marketing category. It also received three additional PRSA Awards: the Capital Award of Merit for its blog, “The WilliamsBLOG”; the Influencer Marketing Capital Award of Excellence; and the Capital Award of Merit for its “Bon Appetit” content partnership.
This marks the second year in a row that Visit Williamsburg won in each of these categories, it noted.
HSMAI Adrian Awards
Visit Williamsburg’s “Life. At Your Pace.” campaign also won three bronze HSMAI Adrian Awards honoring excellence in travel marketing in the Advertising-Television, Integrated Campaign-Content Marketing, and Digital-Social Media Campaign categories.
This is the second consecutive year that the campaign has received recognition from the association. Winners will be honored at the annual Adrian Awards celebration in Los Angeles in February.
“Travel Weekly” Magellan Awards
Visit Williamsburg won four “Travel Weekly” Magellan Awards honoring the best in travel. It won two gold awards, the first in the blog category for “The WilliamsBLOG,” and the second in the television commercial category for the “Life. At Your Pace.” campaign, and two silver awards for “Life. At Your Pace.” in the social media and advertising/marketing campaign categories.
Visit Williamsburg noted this is the second consecutive year it received Magellan Awards from “Travel Weekly.”
“Travel + Leisure” World’s Best Awards
“Travel + Leisure” magazine readers named Williamsburg #12 on its list of the 15 Best Cities in the United States in its “World’s Best Awards 2022” readers’ survey, rating Williamsburg an 82.28 out of a possible 100 based on its sights and landmarks, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping, and overall value. Visit Williamsburg has been named one of the 15 best cities in the United States since 2017.
“ConventionSouth” 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards
For the third time, Visit Williamsburg received a 2022 Readers’ Choice Award from “ConventionSouth,” the national multimedia resource for planning events in the South. It was one of only 28 winners in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Washington, D.C.
