HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Veterans Day is observed Friday, Nov. 11. Here is how local offices and services are impacted by the federal holiday.
James City County
James City County offices, facilities, services, libraries and courts will observe the following schedule for the Veterans Day holiday:
County Offices:
Closed Friday, Nov. 11.
James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center:
Open Friday, Nov. 11.
Parks:
All county parks are open year-round.
Park Stores and Guest Services Offices:
Chickahominy Riverfront Park, Little Creek Reservoir Park, James City County Marina and Freedom Park office/stores are closed Friday, Nov. 11.
Convenience Centers:
Tewning Road, Jolly Pond Road and Toano are open Friday, Nov. 11.
Garbage Transfer Station:
Open Friday, Nov. 11.
Curbside Recycling:
No change to curbside recycling.
Libraries:
Open Friday, Nov. 11
Courts:
Closed Friday, Nov. 11.
City of Williamsburg
The City of Williamsburg will observe Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11. All City offices will be closed, including the offices in the Municipal Building on Lafayette Street, Quarterpath Recreation Center, and the Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse on Monticello Avenue.
Waller Mill Park will follow normal operating hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The city reminds residents who need to pay a city bill when offices are closed that a convenient 24-hour bill payment drop box is located at the front of the Municipal Building, 401 Lafayette St., for city transactions. Payments can also be made online. Dropbox payments made on Friday, Nov. 11 will not be posted until Monday, Nov. 14, according to the city.
York County
The following York County offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday:

- Waste Management Center offices — Closed
- York-Poquoson Social Services — Closed
- VPPSA Composting Facility — Open
- Drop-off Centers for Garbage & Recycling — Open
- Garbage Transfer Station — Open
