Don’t Forget to Set Your Clocks Back — Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

WILLIAMSBURG — Daylight saving time officially ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6.

In addition to setting clocks back one hour, it is recommended to check the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

AAA Tidewater also warns a lost hour of sleep, combined with shorter days, can have an impact on commuters.

“As our mornings and evenings get darker, AAA reminds road users to be extra attentive.” said Ryan Adcock, AAA Tidewater public relations specialist. “Whether you are behind the wheel, or using the road in another fashion, exercising caution during this transitional period is crucial.”

Sunrise on Sunday in Williamsburg will be at 6:37 a.m., and the sun will set at 5:04 p.m. While a bill to make daylight saving time permanent has passed in the Senate, it remains stalled in the House. Daylight saving time will resume on Sunday, March 12.
