YORKTOWN — Yorktown announced road closures and an updated trolley schedule ahead of Yorktown Day celebrations slated for Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Vehicular access to the following streets in Yorktown will be restricted to residents and their guests from 8 a.m. to noon, unless otherwise noted.
- Zweybrucken Road (closed to vehicular traffic until 12:30 p.m.)
- Bacon Street (closed to vehicular traffic until 12:30 p.m.)
- Smith Street
- Nelson Street
- Read Street
- Church Street
- Main Street
The Yorktown Trolley will will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. but deviate from its normal route part of the day to accommodate the commemorative events.
- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — National Park Service Visitor Center to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown via Ballard Street to Water Street and return via Water Street and Ballard Street.
- 1 to 5 p.m. — (Returns to normal route) National Park Service Visitor Center to the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown via Zweybrucken Road, Comte de Grasse Street and Water Street and return via Water Street and Ballard Street.
All public parking areas in Yorktown will be open to the public with the exception of the parking area between Church Street and Read Street, and the parking behind the County Administration Center, 224 Ballard St., from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. due to parade activities.
