WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) announced Monday the 2022 National Night Out event has been canceled due to inclement weather.
The event location is no longer suitable due to the amount of rainfall the area has sustained, WPD said in a press release.
The Williamsburg Police Department said it consulted with the National Weather Service and determined additional rainfall is likely today and tomorrow leading up to the event.
“We would like to acknowledge the tremendous amount of work that went into preparing for this event and thank our committee, vendors, community partners, and officers,” WPD said in the release. “We look forward to bringing a memorable National Night Out to the City of Williamsburg in 2023.”
