YORKTOWN — Richmond-based Lazy Daisy signed a lease with The Breeden Company in Yorktown’s Village Square at Kiln Creek. The Yorktown location will be the ninth location for the retailer since its launch in 2011.

The Lazy Daisy, a gift store, was inspired when owner Michelle Leshok passed a storefront for lease in Chester following the loss of her husband and son. She had never thought of opening a store before but had known at that moment she had found her calling, according to the company’s website.

Lazy Daisy has grown into a chain of gift stores across Virginia specializing in upcycled and restyled furniture, home décor, lifestyle goods, and gifts.

“We are excited to expand to the Hampton Roads market, expanding with our ninth location. We proudly support local artisans only and offer reasonably priced items for all to enjoy. We are looking forward to meeting new customers and repeat customers, alike,” Leshok said in a press release.

The Kiln Creek location is over 12,000 square feet and will be located off of I-64. The doors to this location are looking to be open near the end of Oct.
