WILLIAMSBURG — Nationwide car wash company Tidal Wave Auto Spa will hold its 14th annual Charity Day Friday, Sept. 16, with its local Williamsburg location selecting The Arc of Williamsburg as its charitable-giving partner.
The Thomaston, Georgia-based company was founded in 1999, and now boasts 112 locations in 16 states. On its annual charity day, 100% of the washes purchased, as well as donations made across the company’s network, are donated to charitable organizations, and each location selects a local charity or nonprofit to receive 50% of its daily proceeds, Tidal Wave Auto Spa explained in a press release.
As part of this commitment to local communities, the Williamsburg location has selected the Arc of Williamsburg, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community activities and advocacy, the company said.
The remaining 50% is donated to the company’s corporate partner, Annandale Village, a nonprofit dedicated to providing progressive life assistance to adults with developmental disabilities, according to the press release.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa said it has focused much of its charitable-giving efforts on supporting organizations that serve adults and children with special needs. To date, its charity days have raised more than $700,000 in donations, it said, and since its founding has given more than $1 million to organizations serving children and individuals with special needs.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa of Williamsburg is located at 6640 Mooretown Road and is open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
