WILLIAMSBURG — For the first time, members of the Williamsburg Artists Group will put their best artwork forward at the Williamsburg Regional Library Gallery at Stryker Center Sept. 19 through Oct. 28.
Approximately 35 new and emerging artists are expected to represent the group in the show. Williamsburg Artists Group’s independent structure enables artists to connect with each other to exhibit and sell artwork one-on-one to consumers without going through a traditional gallery. New members are juried into Williamsburg Artists Group by the leadership team to ensure the quality of the artwork is consistent with the group.
“We are excited to have this opportunity for our members to exhibit and sell their work in this beautiful gallery space,” said Bob Carlson, a member of the leadership team. “As an independent art organization, we don’t have a brick-and-mortar gallery; we hold exhibits and sales at different venues each year. It is especially gratifying that only four years after WAG was established, we are exhibiting in such a premier location.
“The variety of styles and mediums offered are sure to appeal to a range of tastes, so this is also a great opportunity for art lovers to find original art appropriate for their home or office space,” he added.
An opening reception will be held Sept. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gallery and is open to the public. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
