JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County Parks & Recreation’s annual Harvest Festival returns to Chickahominy Riverfront Park Saturday, Sept. 17.
The festival features free activities for kids including face painting, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, inflatables, a tractor-pulled hayride and “touch a tractor” presented by James River Equipment.
The popular Scarecrow Stuffing is back on a first-come first-served basis while supplies last. Cost is $20 per scarecrow, and includes all supplies. Cash or check only at the fairgrounds, credit cards are accepted at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park Store.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and listen to local bluegrass band Code Blue from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and local merchandise, food and community vendors will be onsite.
There’s no admission fee for the event, parking is $5 per car by check or cash only and all ages welcome. The event is weather permitting, call the Activities Hotline at 757-259-3232 for any schedule changes before heading out.
