WILLIAMSBURG — After earning a lopsided season-opening victory at Charlotte, the William & Mary football team garnered a No. 20 ranking in this week’s Stats Perform FCS Top 25 poll.
W&M was dominant in the 41-24 victory, as it outgained Charlotte 559-379 and piled up 303 rushing yards. Additionally, the Tribe limited the Niners to just seven points in the second half and held them scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore quarterback Darius Wilson highlighted a number of impressive individual performances and was honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week after posting a career-high 304 yards of total offense.
The Tribe will open its home slate at Zable Stadium versus Campbell on Saturday at 6 p.m. For a limited time, Victory Sale tickets are available for just $20 at TribeAthletics.com.
