RICHMOND —William & Mary women’s soccer senior Zoe Doughty was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Doughty earned her third career defensive player of the week honor after leading the Tribe to a pair of shutout victories last week over teams that played in the NCAA Tournament in 2021.
In the Tribe’s first win of the 2022 campaign, Doughty recorded seven saves, including four in the second half, to record the clean sheet against the Old Dominion. On Sunday, the Tribe goalkeeper notched two saves in blanking defending Big South Champion High Point.
The reigning CAA Goalkeeper of the Year ranks second in the CAA in shutouts (2) and fourth in saves (17) so far this season.
Doughty and the Tribe return to action when they travel to VCU on Thursday, Sept. 1. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
On Sunday, the Tribe will host American at 1 p.m. W&M will honor its seniors as part of Senior Day prior to kickoff.
