JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County Police and Fire Departments responded to a fatal accident Wednesday morning on Humelsine Parkway West at the Olde Towne Road Overpass.
According to a press release, James City County Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene of the crash involving a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon and a 2017 Hyundai Accent at approximately 7:51 a.m.
The Tiburon was traveling east on Humelsine Parkway when it crossed into the center median and entered the Humelsine Road West travel lanes in front of the Accent, police said.
The driver of the Tiburon, 34-year-old Jory Johnson of Chesapeake, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said. The driver of the Accent was transported to the Riverside Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Humelsine Parkway West was blocked for several hours while the accident investigation took place.
