WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center is hosting a kid’s day for children from preschool through first grade on Sept. 18 outside the building for kids’ activities. Currently, the event is looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event.

Two areas volunteers are needed: For activity stations and set-up/tear-down. There is an a.m. and a p.m. shift for both teams and Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center is asking for six volunteers for each.

Activity Station volunteers will be asked to work 2 1/2 hour shifts teaching children the art and crafts and overseeing the process. Training will be provided prior to the event. The shifts are 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For set-up/tear-down, teams will be tasked with either setting up the tent, tables, chairs, and other equipment or taking them down. The set-up shift is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the tear-down shift is 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For those interested in participating in the event, children are to be accompanied by adults.

Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center also asks that participants don’t park at the Art Center itself or the residential side as that is where the activities will be taking place.

Alternate parking is available at the following locations:

  • Century 21 Nachman Realty: Corner Richmond Rd. & Westover Ave.
  • Colonial Folk Art: Corner Bacon & Lafayette Streets
  • Chesapeake Bank: Both Lafayette Street lots
  • On-street parking: Bacon & Lafayette Streets, & Westover Ave.
