Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce Announces Christmas Parade Theme

(Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce))

WILLIAMSBURG — The Greater Williamsburg Chamber on Monday announced the theme for the 2022 Christmas Parade.

The parade has been a tradition since 1965. The 2022 incarnation — “Merry & Bright” — will usher in the holiday season with festive floats, live performances, and a special visit from Santa himself.

In 2021, the parade hit a record high of over 15,000 spectators, the chamber said in a press release, all coming to see the evening parade with floats illuminating the night. Spectators are also encouraged to help light up the night with their own light-up apparel and accessories.

“The Christmas Parade has a unique way of bringing together the families, businesses, and civic organizations that make our community special,” stated Terry Banez, CEO of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce. “This year, we look forward to growing the impact of this event and making new memories as a community.”

Local marching bands may apply with early access by contacting Lauren Moore, Senior Director of Communications & Events. Applications for all other floats will open on Aug. 23 on the Christmas Parade website. Those interested may sign up to receive email notifications for when applications are live.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available. To secure a sponsorship for the parade, contact Lauren Moore, Senior Director of Communications & Events.

The 2022 Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. and is a free event. More details on float application and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce website.
