RICHMOND —William & Mary senior goalkeeper Zoe Doughty was named to the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team, the league announced on Thursday.
Last season, Doughty was named the CAA Goalkeeper of the Year to go along with being selected to the All-CAA First Team. She posted a goals against average of 0.38 and a save % of 93.2. Both numbers would have led the country if she met the NCAA minimum for games played. In CAA play, Doughty topped the league in GAA, save %, saves (40) and saves per game (5.71). Over the final seven matches of 2021, she allowed just one goal in regulation time.
The Tribe was picked ninth in the preseason poll by vote of the league head coaches. UNCW was the preseason selection to win the league with 115 total points and seven first-place votes. Hofstra was No. 2 at 111 total points and four first-place votes followed by No. 3 Northeastern (95), No. 4 Monmouth (85 and 1 first-place vote), No. 5 Towson (77), No. 6 Elon (72), No. 7 Delaware (59) and No. 8 Drexel (55). Stony Brook (38), Charleston (29) and Hampton (11) rounded out the league’s preseason standings.
