Wells Fargo Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested Over the Weekend

YORK COUNTY — The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office (YPSO) announced Saturday that the suspect in the June 17 Wells Fargo Bank Robbery was found and arrested.

Investigators arrested John Robert Runnebohm on August 5 for the bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on 820 E. Rochambeau Drive, according to a social media post.

The 65-year-old Newport News resident was arrested without incident after a tipe that he was sitting inside a McDonald’s Restaurant in the 26000 block of Jefferson Avenue, Newport News.

Following the arrest, Runnebohm was taken to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail where he is being held without bond.
