YORK COUNTY — A York County project to improve the drainage in the Edgehill subdivision requiring the closure of Cook Road for several weeks is expected to begin Monday, July 11.
Cook Road will be closed from Route 17 to Falcon Road, the county said in a press release. Detour signs will be posted identifying alternate routes for drivers. The county assured access will be maintained to all private entrances within the section of the roadway.
Crews will be replacing the existing culvert under Cook Road with two larger culverts to increase the flow of stormwater drainage, part of the Wormley Creek Drainage Project aimed to help alleviate drainage issues in the Edgehill subdivision located on the west side of Route 17.
The county cautions construction work is dependent upon weather conditions and the schedule is subject to change.
