GLOUCESTER — Phillips Energy is supporting the Alzheimer’s Association this week by organizing a series of events the company has called the Longest Week.
The Longest Week, which began on June 21 and runs until June 25, aims to bring the community together to boost awareness and raise money to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
The event pays homage to the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Longest Day” of the year, which takes place on the summer solstice every June.
“We are so proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association, a wonderful organization whose cause is very near and dear to our hearts,” said Phillips Energy Vice President Elizabeth McCormick in a news release. “Finding a way to END ALZ has become Phillips Energy’s signature cause, and we are humbled each and every year by the outpouring of support we get from our customers and community.”
The Schedule of events includes:
- Tuesday, June 21, 7 a.m.-5p.m.
Philips Energy will donate 10% of all retail fuel sales at its public gas station near Gloucester Point to the Alzheimer’s Association through the Phillips Energy’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising team. - Wednesday, June 22, 4-7 p.m.
Meet the Phillips Energy team at the YROC Coastal Bar & Grill at Gloucester Point to ”GET SPIRITED and PUMPED to END ALZ!’ The Phillips energy team will be helping to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s, encouraging people to sign up for the 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, and hosting a raffle. - Thursday, June 23, All Day
Give to the ‘Philips Phamily Pumped to END ALZ’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s team during this time period and an anonymous donor will match all gifts (up to $1,000). Give online here. - Friday, June 24, All Day
Join the ‘Phillips Phamily Pumped to END ALZ’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s team to help Phillips Energy reach its goal of building the biggest team it has ever had. Join online here. - Saturday, June 25, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Fuel up at Phillips energy’s Gloucester Point Public Gas Station and let a team of ‘celebrity pumpers’ help you. They will be working for tips, all of which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
